The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Amy S. Hewitt, PhD, FAAIDD, as the Interim Editor of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), the Association’s multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal of policy, practices, and perspectives. She succeeds Dr. James Thompson in her editorship of this journal.
At the University of Minnesota, Dr. Hewitt is a Professor and Director of the Institute on Community Integration, the Research & Training Center on Community Living, and the MNLEND. She is a Fellow and past president of the Board of Directors of AAIDD (2014-2015), and served with Dr. Thompson as an Associate Editor of IDD.
As a journal with an applied focus, IDD provides
a forum for the dissemination of rigorously reviewed, actionable
information that is relevant to emerging policies, innovative practices,
and transformative concepts.
Dr. Len Abbeduto of the University of California - Davis, past President of the AAIDD Board of Directors (2020-2021) and Editor of AJIDD (2008-2014), will Chair the search for the next editor IDD.
