Translation Rights

AAIDD has an international reputation of publication excellence, and our global presence is ever growing. Many of our titles have been translated into numerous other languages by international publishers who have bought the translation rights from AAIDD.

AAIDD will license translation rights for most of our titles, and we welcome requests from registered publishing houses to buy translation rights.

To request translation rights:

•Query AAIDD regarding availability of specific foreign language rights for desired title; e-mail your request tobooks@aaidd.org.

Please include the following information in your request:
• Title of the book
• Language into which you wish to translate the text
• Distribution territory
• Intended size of first print run
• Proposed selling price in local currency
If you are interested in any electronic rights, be sure to outline terms of use and the format in which the document will be made available (PDF, HTML, etc.).

•If the title is not on option to another publisher of that language, the requestor will be sent a reading copy of the book. An option of 2–3 months is granted for evaluating the title's suitability for the requestor's list.

•If the option expires, and no proposal for acquiring the rights or for extending the option has been submitted, AAIDD may offer the book to another publisher.

If you would like to examine an AAIDD book for translation, e-mail your request to books@aaidd.org or send your request to
