2017 National Core Indicators Staff Stability Survey Report: Data for Change
PowerPoint Slides
Content Overview:
The National Core Indicators™ (NCI) Staff Stability Survey examines workforce conditions and opportunities for direct support staff for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A stable direct support professional (DSP) workforce has a critical bearing on quality of life for people with disabilities, expanding opportunities to live lives of their choosing in inclusive communities.
The newly released 2017 National Core Indicators Staff Stability Survey Report (https://www.nationalcoreindicators.org/upload/core-indicators/2017_NCI_StaffStabilitySurvey_Report.pdf) offers critical information to help states assess the DSP workforce. With a more comprehensive understanding of the status of this workforce, states can launch informed efforts to improve the quality, longevity, and sustainability of the workforce. The data can be used to inform policy and program development, monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives, compare workforce data to those in other states, and provide context for consumer and family outcomes (measured in National Core Indicators surveys).
This webinar will discuss the importance of the survey, go over the survey results and discuss how some states are already using the data gathered through the NCI Staff Stability Survey.
