We are seeking a Director to lead a new business initiative, SmartLiving, focused on transforming the lives of people with disabilities through cutting-edge assistive technology. This is a pivotal leadership role within our organization, and you will be instrumental in building and expanding our presence in this space. Job Summary:
In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to grow our new business in the assistive technology sector. Your focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and managing key accounts across healthcare, education, and corporate sectors. As the leader of this new initiative, you will play a key role in expanding our organization’s footprint while cultivating strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of directing a profitable business, a passion for innovative assistive technologies, and business development expertise. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Growth: Assist in developing and executing a business development strategy that focuses on expanding the company's presence in healthcare, education, government, and private sectors by offering assistive technology solutions.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Building: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential clients such as hospitals, schools, government organizations, and corporations. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Consultative Selling: Understand clients' needs and challenges related to accessibility and assistive technology. Offer customized solutions and collaborate with internal teams to ensure that clients receive the most suitable products and services.
- Partnership Development: Build relationships with assistive technology vendors, device manufacturers, and other organizations in the disability services ecosystem. Form partnerships to strengthen the organization’s market position and service offerings.
- Market Research & Insights: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and potential market opportunities. Use these insights to inform business development strategies and offerings.
- Networking & Advocacy: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and workshops. Promote the importance of assistive technology solutions in creating inclusive environments and advocate for accessibility in the workplace, schools, and healthcare settings.
- Project Coordination & Client Satisfaction: Work closely with internal project management and consulting teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, meet client expectations, and generate high levels of satisfaction.
- Revenue Growth & Target Achievement: Focus on achieving sales targets, tracking business development progress, and driving revenue growth. Monitor performance against established KPIs and adjust tactics to ensure success.
- Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to create tailored sales presentations, proposals, and other marketing materials that effectively communicate the value of assistive technology solutions.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Provide regular reports to senior management on sales pipeline, business development activities, market trends, and forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Education, or a related field. Additional certifications or training in assistive technology or disability services is a plus.
- 5-7 years of managerial experience in IDD services or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years experience in client services, business development, sales, or account management.,
- Familiarity with relevant policies, regulations, and laws that affect the assistive technology and disability services industries, particularly in healthcare and education.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology products, services, and solutions, including their application in education, healthcare, and employment settings.
- Proven ability to generate new business opportunities and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels and explain complex technologies in simple terms.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple departments, including marketing, operations, finance to ensure alignment and success in achieving business goals.
- Ability to use data and market research to make informed decisions that drive business growth.
- Entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to manage ambiguity and take calculated risks. Or -Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently while being a collaborative team player.
- Experience with CRM tools and sales reporting systems.

Physical Requirements:
- Travel Requirements: This role may require regular travel to meet with clients, attend industry events, and represent the company at conferences and workshops. Travel may involve extended hours and occasional overnight stays.
- Office Environment: Ability to work at a desk for extended periods, using a computer and phone for communication and reporting purposes.
- Walking and Moving: The role may require attending client meetings or conferences, which may involve walking, standing, and carrying materials such as product brochures, presentations, or promotional items.
- Communication Requirements: Frequent communication, both in person and via phone or video calls, with clients, stakeholders, and team members. The role demands clear verbal communication and active listening.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to use a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment for an extended period.
- Lift and Carry: Occasional lifting of materials (up to 25 pounds) for event setup, trade shows, or client presentations.
