The Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time (12-month) clinical faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in Special Education to complement and extend our existing expertise and contribute to our program. Specifically, we seek individuals with expertise in applied behavior analysis to assist with building our ABAI accredited programs and supporting our other Special Education accredited programs by teaching courses, advising students, and assisting with administrative tasks related to accreditation requirements. This position will begin August 2025.

Performance Objectives

The candidate will teach courses in the MA and PhD special education programs specializing in applied behavior analysis, advise master’s theses and research projects, and assist with administrative tasks related maintaining accreditation.  As needed, the candidate will also perform tasks (teaching, administrative) to support our Special Education licensure programs.

Education and Experience Requirements

We seek candidates who have the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential, and experience teaching online courses, assisting with accreditation or licensure requirements, and supervising field experiences. Additional expectations include service to the department, college, and the community, and performance of administrative duties as needed.

The candidate must meet the following required qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in a relevant discipline - broad areas of expertise may include behavioral assessment and intervention for teaching a wide range of skills (e.g., academic, social, daily living, functional, vocational) to individuals with disabilities including learning disabilities, autism, emotional/behavior disorders, and developmental disabilities
  • BCBA credential
  • Potential to teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Skilled with measuring behavior, designing and implementing behavioral research, and identifying and implementing evidence-based practices

Preferred qualifications for the successful candidate include:

  • Doctorate in Special Education
  • Online teaching experience
  • Demonstrated excellence in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in their teaching and service agendas and who offer robust evidence of sustained impact
  • Familiarity with relevant accreditation and licensure requirements

The candidate selected for this position must demonstrate the ability to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States by August 2025.
