AAIDD announces its call for proposals for its next Annual Meeting to be held
June 1-4, 2020 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The theme of this meeting is
Technology as a Tool to Enhance Services, Support, and Health Equity
The 144th AAIDD Annual Meeting will provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, students, and advocates to learn about the potential of technology to deliver services and support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities and at every point in the life span. Technologies such as telehealth conferencing, wearables, virtual reality, therapeutic gaming, robotics, and "smart" homes are now being used to teach providers and family members how to support individuals with disabilities, deliver services and support directly to individuals with disabilities, reduce the cost of services and the burden of travel on families. Technology-delivered services also have the potential to facilitate access for those communities that are typically underserved and marginalized. The evidence base for technology-delivered support is growing and will be the focus of the conference.
Submissions are sought for concurrent sessions, poster symposia, issue briefs, and poster session.
The deadline for submission is December 2, 2019. Individuals will be notified about the disposition of their proposals in February 2020.
