The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) announces that it has updated its membership packages; AAIDD membership packages were last updated in 2021.

“Membership organizations should always be looking at what they offer their members and make periodic adjustments,” said Margaret Nygren, CEO of AAIDD. “Of course, the planned move of our journals to become online-only in 2026 was a major factor in revisiting AAIDD’s membership packages at this time.”

This year, AAIDD has added an “Academic Bundle” that Departments or Centers of higher education may find appealing for their faculty, staff, and students. AAIDD is an individual membership organization that has long offered a “Corporate Bundle” that allows organizations to get a discount by paying the dues of a group of employees; this new bundle is tailored to an academic audience.

Other notable changes include the consolidation of the “Classic” and “Standard” membership types, modifications and enhancements to the benefit packages across the board, and the elimination of the student discount on membership. AAIDD will continue to support students with free membership in its Students and Early Career Professionals (SECP) Interest Network as they join or renew their membership, discounted conference registration, and eligibility for scholarships associated with accepted conference proposals.

In addition to the benefits outlined below, AAIDD members can

• Get involved in Interest Networks that provide a forum for AAIDD members with a shared interest or discipline to connect and share ideas and information.
• Serve on Committees, be a Geographic Liaison, or engage in a Chapters or Regions.
• Contribute to the Association's Publications, Conferences, Webinars, and Policy activities.

AAIDD Member Benefit Overview

AAIDD membership is limited to individuals. Corporate and Academic Bundles provide a mechanism for entities to pay the (non-transferable) annual membership dues for a group of individuals at a discount.

• Corporate Bundle ($600): 1 Premium, 3 Standard, and 1 Basic annual memberships plus an unlimited number of additional nontransferable employee memberships at a 20% discount.
  
  
• Academic Bundle ($1,300): 10 Standard annual memberships plus an unlimited number of additional individual memberships at the same academic email domain at a 20% discount.
