The Arc of the United States and the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities present the following Research to Practice webinar:

The Status of the Support System for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities - The Residential Information Systems Project Most Recent Results

What is the status of the long-term supports and services states are providing to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities? Join us for a presentation about the most recent report from Sheryl Larson and staff from the Residential Information Systems Project (RISP) to discuss prevalence of people with IDD in the United States, the supports and services provided, and the types of facilities people who receive supports and services from their state live. This presentation will tell the story of deinstitutionalization from historical data about where the system has been to current trends.

Since 1987, the RISP longitudinal study has provided annual updates on the living arrangements of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) who get Medicaid and other long-term supports and services. The report In-Home and Residential Long-Term Supports and Services for Persons with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities: Status and Trends Through 2014, presents national and state-level data on publicly-funded residential service setting types, setting sizes, funding authorities, and expenditures for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States.

Please contact Amie Lulinski at lulinski@thearc.org with questions. Learn more about the Residential Information Systems Project here. Register for the webinar here.
