Senior Vice President, Chief Medical and Clinical Officer
Devereux invites applications and nominations for the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical and Clinical Officer.
The Chief Medical and Clinical Officer (CMCO) is the top medical and clinical executive in the organization responsible for all clinical, medical and nursing efforts – including strategy, analysis, process improvement, policies, procedures, practices and outcomes. Working closely with the entire Devereux executive leadership team, national directors and center directors across all locations, the CMCO is responsible for leading practice and changes in the clinical, medical and nursing environments, and developing quality programs and competitive strategies to support the continued improvement of services. In carrying out the work, the CMCO helps further integrate and streamline the 16 centers across the country to deliver more effective, supportive, efficient care for our individuals and their families. This leader has the opportunity to influence improvements, outcomes and effectiveness across a vast network of best-in-class centers – leading teams who make life-changing impacts on our individuals and families.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading contemporary medical and clinical behavioral health / psychiatry operations across multiple care settings / locations, with demonstrated success as a senior leader in a matrixed organization. The CMCO will have experience implementing and/or using data and metrics to drive improvements in behavioral health care delivery, protocol or pathway adherence, and to enhance efficacy/efficiency/productivity – focused on alignment, integration and network building. This leader will be relationship-oriented, highly productive, and will have demonstrated the ability to lead through influence.
Founded in 1912, Devereux is one of the largest behavioral health networks in the country and the second largest non-profit behavioral health organization. With 16 centers in 12 states, Devereux impacts the lives of more than 11,000 children, adults and their families every year. Devereux has a comprehensive network of clinical, therapeutic, educational, and employment programs and services and is viewed as a trusted partner to work with vulnerable populations, such as those with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Devereux provides an extensive array of services related to autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, specialty mental health, school-based services and foster care. This includes acute care, treatment in residential settings, community-based living, special education day schools, foster care, autism assessments, employment and transition services, group homes, school and family consultation, traditional and therapeutic foster care, and outpatient/other specialized services.
A board eligible or board-certified psychiatrist or internal medicine physician is preferred. The Chief Medical and Clinical Officer must also maintain an active license to practice medicine. Residency in Pennsylvania, New York or New Jersey is preferred.
