Why did you join AAIDD?
I appreciate the many and varied disciplines that come together around intellectual and developmental disabilities at AAIDD. I find great value and
energy from collaborating with people from so many perspectives and experiences from around the world.
Why did you choose the field of intellectual disability?
I am a special education teacher by training and calling and have found great fulfillment working in the field. I believe that society is strengthened when all people are full participants, and special education is a place where I can do my part and contribute to empowering individuals with intellectual disability to do their part in moving toward a more inclusive and just world.
