AAIDD is a world leading organization in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization combines professionalism and scientific leadership and the people behind create a sense of companionship among its members. The annual meetings are inspiring and innovative.
Why did you choose the field of intellectual disability?
I did not choose the field of ID as such, I chose the Quality of Life theoretical framework that sets the stage to look at people from a support needs perspective. The Quality of Life framework broadens the scope to wishes, dreams and talents of people with ID in a context of interaction.
