Membership Data Collection
AAIDD collects contact information from members (name, email, address, etc.) necessary to deliver member benefits, information of interest, and member discounts on meeting registration and bookstore purchases.
While not required for membership in AAIDD, the Association asks members to voluntarily provide demographic information to help us understand where we are on our journey towards achieving a diverse, interdisciplinary membership. Members are notified that providing this information will in no way impact their membership, future conference submissions, or leadership opportunities with the Association.
Use of Voluntarily Provided Demographic Information
Each demographic item is entirely voluntary; members are asked to provide only the information they feel comfortable sharing and may opt out entirely. AAIDD uses this data to better understand its current membership and to inform ongoing member recruitment and retention activities. Demographic data that may be shared, if any, is de-identified and aggregated for this purpose.
