Executive Director (Quest Autism Programs)

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the influential leader of Quest Autism Programs and is responsible for overseeing the administration and strategic plan of the organization.  Other key duties include fundraising / development, finances / budget, facilities management and community outreach. 


Program Development:

  • Create and execute program development plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the program and creates process improvement plans according to annual third party review.
  • Builds an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching.
  • Maintains meticulous records required by policy as well as federal, state and local agencies.
  • Oversees the development and management of all skill acquisition, behavior reduction and data collection procedures.
  • Devises remedial actions for any identified issues and conducts crisis management when necessary.
  • Performs comprehensive evaluations of new participations and their families to ensure Quest meets their needs and that the family is aligned with Quest’s mission, vision and values.

Finace & Budget:

  • Works closely with the QAP Treasurer and Office Manager to prepare and closely manage the annual budget.
  • Prepares reports and documentation required by State & Federal funding sources to ensure timely payments and compliance with requirements.

Board Development & Fundraising:

  • Partners with Development Director to identify and develop new sources of funding and volunteerism.
  • Actively encourages 100% board and family participation in fundraising initiatives.
  • Attends all Quest Autism Foundation & Quest Autism Programs Board & Committee meetings and fundraising events.

Human Resources:

  • Directly manages all recruitment, hiring, evaluations and terminations of all staff.
  • Oversees job coach recruitment and hiring by Clinical Directors.
  • Oversees the development of all staff policy & procedure manuals (e.g., Staff, Behavioral Interventions Manual, Staff Training Manual, etc.).

Communications / Public Relations:

  • Act as the public speaker in ways that strengthen Quest’s profile in the community.
  • Works with communications chair, office manager and volunteers to develop regular communications targeted to families, donors and community.

Facilities Management:

  • Oversees staff to ensure programmatic compliance with licensing, regulatlory and monitoring requirements, and ensures program is operated in a manner which promotes health and safety.
  • Directs all facility maintenance, vendor management and office supplies.

Board Development:

  • Assists the Board President & Secretary in preparing meetings agendas and materials.
  • Promotes active participation by board and committee members in all areas of the organization’s work.


  • BCBA certificate or 6 + years’ experience working in a behaviorally based, vocationally oriented program serving adults with autism.
  • Proven experience as an executive director or in other managerial positions.
  • Experience in developing strategies and plans.
  • Possesses a working knowledge and strong interest in significant developments and trends in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and program administration for adults with autism.
  • Valid drivers license with Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with Quest and Quest insurance company standards.
