Content Overview:

The Sexual Health Equity for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (SHEIDD) Project, led by Multnomah County Health Department in Portland, Oregon, uses human-centered design and popular education methods to develop resources to improve the sexual health of people with IDD. This webinar will explore participatory learning activities used to engage the community to address the needs of youth with IDD and those who support them.

At this presentation participants will:
• Learn strategies that build community partnerships to promote sexual health education and support for young people experiencing IDD in their communities
• Review the results of the SHEIDD project community needs assessment where we learned from young people with IDD and support people about how to better meet the sexual health education needs of young people and the training needs of support teams.
• Learn methods of putting the results of the community needs assessment into practice.
