At the 2011 AAIDD meeting in St. Paul, a new, international SIG was created. The AAIDD Board approved the formation of this SIG following the conference. The mission of the International SIG is to (a) provide a home within AAIDD for international members to engage in discourse regarding professional practice, policy, and research in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities and (b) increase awareness within the Association of international issues and perspectives related to the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Please join us for this update from the SIG as members review plans for international workshops and meetings at the 2012 AAIDD Annual Meeting, provide an overview of IASSID’s 2012 Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and discuss AAIDD’s October 2012 People to People Delegation to Brazil as well as the 2013 delegation to Norway. There will be time for questions at the end of the webinar.
