Residence Manager

Edwin Gould Services operates ten Offices for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) certified residential sites for New York City Residents. Clients of this service usually have life-long disabilities attributable to mental and /or physical or a combination of mental and physical impairments. Individualized care plans are based on the varying levels of the consumer’s disability and designed to be suitable to his or her needs.

We are currently seeking a Residence Manager who will be responsible for the overall planning and day to day functioning of the ID/DD Residential program, including delivery of habilitative services, promoting community inclusion, supervision of staff and evaluation of the effectiveness of the plan. The Residence Manager will also train and supervise staff in the residential programs, ensures that staffing meets minimum requirement for safety and prepares work schedules. Work is performed under the supervision of the Residential Director.

Job Responsibilities:

Assists the Residential Director in monitoring the effectiveness of the IRA Program, including assessment, planning and compliance with department and regulatory guidelines.

Encourages participation in community inclusion activities and recreation. Promotes activities that enhance engagement with the community at large.

Monitors and review monthly residential habilitation plan. Ensures service delivery is compliant with billing standards, corporate compliance and OPWDD standards.

Reinforces individual rights promoted in HCBS Settings and standards including right to privacy and visitors. Provides training to individuals on rights, grievances and advocacy.

Provides ongoing supervision of the team, in accordance with OPWDD standards; coordinates staff activities; sets goals and targets; provides effective one-on-one and group supervisory sessions in order for staff to effectively demonstrate satisfactory core competency standards;

Ensures that all individuals are kept safe from harm and safeguards and protections are in place for all individuals.

 Responsible for all duties relative to incident reporting and incident management.

Ensures that all incidents are reported and documented in a timely fashion.

Ensures that all notifications are made as per OPWDD and Justice Center Mandates.

Participates in the Incident Review Committee monthly and presents incidents as required

Qualification and Requirements:

Must maintain certification in SCIP-R, AMAP, CPR

Bachelor’s degree plus one year experience in a related field

High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years’ experience in a related field, in lieu of degree.

Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record

Criminal background Skills and Competencies:

General Skills and Competencies: Working knowledge of OPWDD standards and guidelines.

Other Relevant Requirements/Licenses/Certifications/Credential:

Must be able and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as Edwin Gould deems necessary - using public transportation.
