Then Multnomah County Department of County Human Services wants you to apply for our open Division Director position in Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services!
The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future regular, limited duration, full or part-time or temporary positions.
As the Division Director, you will lead Multnomah County's efforts to provide individually focused care coordination and planning to children and adults impacted by intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Your goal will be to increase overall quality of life, promote independence, and integration by providing resources and service in the family home and community for the individuals we serve. You will develop and manage an overall budget of almost $25 million.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Promoting and fostering a diverse workforce while providing leadership to the Division management and staff
- Modeling the Division's values while overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of efficient and sustainable Medicaid-funded services and programs
- Monitoring staff performance to ensure that program criteria, performance standards, and timelines are met
- Serving as a liaison and collaborative partner with state, county, for-profit, non-profit and advocacy agencies
- Strategic planning and budget development
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- Advanced knowledge of services and resources for persons impacted by intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Advanced knowledge of relevant State and Federal statutes, State Administrative Rules (OARs), the State of Oregon Medicaid Waiver, and other binding policies and procedures
- Ability to solve problems that are unusual, conflicting and/or highly complex
- Ability to collaborate, build relationships and lead teams to achieve positive work outcomes
- Ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external colleagues
- Ability to embrace change, to tolerate ambiguity and turbulence, to maintain confidentiality, and to model these competencies for others

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, human services or a related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and practical experience; Master's degree is preferred but NOT required
- Six (6) years of relevant experience in increasingly responsible professional leadership or technical program experience with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including at least three (3) years of leadership experience in a complex and diverse organization providing human services delivery
- Must have a valid driver license
- Must pass a criminal background check

- Please describe the importance of equity and empowerment in the work environment. How would you go about implementing an equity and empowerment lens to the work of the programs you manage?
