General Job Requirements:

Basic Purpose
The primary purpose of the Charles Lea Center staff is to support adults where they live, work and play.  This position will provide oversight and leadership to the various areas of Focus of Day Services programs. This includes ensuring that each area provides services that are person centered and consistent with the mission and values of the Charles Lea Center.

Essential Duties:

Administrative
1. Participates in the planning of the annual departmental budget and provides oversight for budgetary needs throughout the year
2. Completes Performance Development Plans for Operations Manager, Therapeutic Recreations Coordinator and Health Services LPN.  
3. Supervises Management team of Focus and completes performance development/performance improvement plans. 
4. Provides guidance and support to ensure that programs meet all State and Federal guidelines to include DHEC, Alliant, CMS and DDSN
5. Provides support to Focus Leadership Team to develop, prioritize and meet established goals 
6. Ensures that a system and process are followed to ensure the timely admission of new referrals
7. Develops a system for tracking and monitoring discharges and admissions to ensure that contracted slots are filled
8. Participates in Day Services Director Counterpart meetings in order to collaborate on best practices for service provision
9. Monitors Kronos and establishes guidelines to reduce overtime expenditures
10. Provides oversight for HASCI Individual Rehab Supports program
11. Reviews Therap to ensure that demographics are updated timely
12. Assists in resolving staff conflicts and issues as appropriate
13. Reviews and approves billing logs by the 5th business day monthly
14. Provides supervision to Focus of Day Services Operation Manager, Therapeutic Recreations Coordinator and Health Services LPN
15. Provides oversight to activities programs to ensure that appropriate materials, equipment and staffing needs are provided
16. Collaborates with Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator to ensure that activity programs are developed that promote community inclusion, opportunities to increase social capital and are based on person centered practices
17. Ensures adherence to the protocol  for follow up of Critical Incident Reports and Abuse Reports
18. Encourages a culture of team work at all levels within and outside of the department
19. Ensures that there is a system in place for communicating with families and stakeholders to increase awareness of departmental changes, updates and activities
20. Provides input to Sr. Director Community Supports regarding program design and implementation identifying opportunities to improve the program and increase effectiveness in engaging Individuals in meaningful activities 
21. Ensures that services are coordinated through a team process that is responsive to the needs of Individuals supported
22. Reviews policies and procedures annually and submits updates/revisions to Sr. Dir. Community Supports
23. Performs other management and program functions as required/assigned by Sr. Dir. Community Supports

Training and Development
1. Ensures that departmental personnel have received the required training as well as any other training opportunities needed for quality service provision
2. Ensures that Focus Leadership personnel are aware of and trained on changes to services as well as State and Federal systematic changes
3. Ensures that Focus Leadership are afforded opportunities for professional development
4. Provides coaching and training to departmental staff as appropriate
5. Provides support for hiring/screening Focus Leadership Team personnel 
6. Provides support to Focus Leadership Team with separation of employment proceedings

Organization 
1. Works closely with other departments within the Charles Lea Center to develop, improve and enhance services and supports throughout the organization
2. Participates on various committees and work groups to evaluate and improve service provision
3. Represents the Charles Lea Center in a positive and professional manner at various functions
4. Promotes a culture of team work at every level of the Charles Lea Center
5. Works effectively with others within and outside of the Charles Lea Center
6. Pursues opportunities to expand program services

Educational Requirements / Specialized Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with 4 years of supervisory experience (2 of which must be in Human Services). Knowledge and background in Day habilitation/activity programs with a strong focus on individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, head and spinal cord injury preferred. Experience with curriculum development or implementation preferred.  

Supervisory Responsibility
Supervisory Responsibility for Healthcare Services Team, Operations Admin Assistant, Area Managers, and Therapeutic Recreations Coordinator

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a professional office environment; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such s computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
